Are you a choreographer between the ages of 10-18 with a passion for dance and a desire to inspire change?

 

Elements Dance Company is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for emerging choreographers to showcase their talent in our upcoming "Dance for Change: Youth Making a Difference" performance premiering on Sunday, March 16, 2025 in Washington, DC.

What We're Looking For:

We're searching for young dancers who want to use their creativity to express important social issues-whether it's environmental justice, equality, mental health, or any cause close to your heart. You can choreograph in any dance style, including Hip Hop, contemporary, jazz, tap, and more. What matters most is your ability to tell a powertul, moving story through dance.

Details:

  • Who Can Apply: Youth choreographers ages 10-18 from the
    DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia)

  • Performance Date: Sunday, March 16, 2025

  • Submission Deadline: November 17, 2024

  • Formats Accepted: Solos, duets, trios, and small or large group pieces

  • Mentorship: Each selected choreographer will be paired with an experienced dance professional to provide guidance throughout their creative journey

  • Artistic Support: Participants will attend 3-4 workshops where they can present their work-in-progress and receive essential feedback

  • Rehearsal Support: Elements Dance Company will provide rehearsal space to help you perfect your piece

  • Choreographer Stipend: Each choreographer will receive a modest stipend to help with costumes, props, or other needs
